Sustainable Brain was born during COVID and designed by Dr Isabelle Phillips, an expert on boosting wellness and performance for leaders. Isabelle has two decades of experience consulting to hundreds of leaders representing thousands of workers in Australia, New Zealand, China and Singapore.

 

During COVID Isabelle worked with first-responders, aged care workers, government executives, teachers and students as they were striving to beat burnout. Isabelle was called upon to support performance and wellness for those doing it tough. Together they achieved great results.

Why Sustainable Brain?

Up to 70% of workers, today are silently striving to beat burnout.

Mental wellbeing, or psychosocial health, is now included in our shared understanding of safety at work.

Leaders can be uncertain about how to approach this. They worry – won’t a focus on burnout might just create more burnout?

Bo Ellery

Bo Ellery has had an impactful career working with business, the community, health and education sectors to improve and maintain personal and organisational wellbeing. Instrumental in the establishment of the NSW Mental Health Commission’s wellbeing framework, Bo has pioneered evidence-based programs to bolster physical and mental health, partnering with, amongst others, the Australian Retail Association, The Australian Retailers Association and the SDA Union to train and educate frontline workers on resilience strategies.

Dr Isabelle Phillips’s research investigates the fascinating neurobiological drivers of performance and wellness in tumultuous times. Isabelle is recognised as an authority on leadership at the Business School and on change and innovation at the Transdisciplinary Innovation School, University of Technology Sydney (UTS). Isabelle is a lecturer and tutor and a co-author of the most recent UTS MBA. In 2023 Isabelle won the UTS ‘Top Teacher Award’.
